KIDS' FURNITURE
Plyhome is all about beautiful birch plywood furniture. It’s great to look at, but easy to assemble too. Proudly NZ designed & made, using premium, non-toxic materials and kid-tested for real life too: like a 5 year old Superman launching off a bed, or a 3 year old architect deep in Playdough time while you get on with dinner. We know the demands that this life throws at furniture, because one of us has lived it.
PLYHOME IS FLAT PACK, WITHOUT THE TWIST:
We love the concept of flat pack, but not the reality of a few hours with an Allen key and multiple tiny parts to lose.
We really don't like metal screws on furniture (it instantly ruins those beautiful clean lines!) and don’t see why furniture should chip, wobble, feel flimsy and be made from chemically loaded material coated in chemically-loaded finishes.
Instructions that don’t make sense? No thanks.
Plyhome is the opposite of all this. Because life with kids is busy enough without an unnecessary flat-pack “discussion” with your beloved. We’ve all been there…

PLYHOME IS SIMPLE DESIGN:
We took the concept of balsa-wood toy models and applied that to furniture. Simple to assemble, beautiful to look at and a sense of achievement to boot. Our furniture connects together so ridiculously easily, you barely need the instructions. True story!
When you say: "Kids, make your beds". They can LITERALLY make their bed.
Behind the simple look of our furniture is solid engineering and design obsession, and we believe in them so much that they're protected.
The Plyhome 5 way cot is New Zealand Registered Design, number 421691 and the beds and bunk are protected under NZ Registered Design, number 421692.

PLYHOME IS HIGH TECH + HANDFINISHING:
As much as we love "Peggy" (the high-tech, super reliable Plyhome CNC machine) and her precision tech plus minimal wastage, she doesn't have eyeballs or fingertips to ensure every surface is smooth and as close to perfection as possible.
After she's done, every piece then gets hand-finished with care & attention to detail by our workshop team. They take great pride in their craft and it definitely shows.
